here It is the most wonderful time of the year. I love Christmas. Always have. But honestly, I prefer the run up and anticipation rather than the main event!! And I think London at this time of year is particularly fun.
http://mhs.se/intra_modul_info.php?id=193 So we decided to take advantage of a sunny day and head out into London. First stop, brunch at the Delauney. Amazing smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and lots of coffee. Then, ice skating at Somerset House. I am always slightly disappointed that the romantic, graceful picture I have of myself gliding around the ice, is never quite the reality! I think I always like the idea of ice skating more than actually doing it!! But it was fun and sunny and oh so Christmassy!!
go Next was the obligatory refreshment…..I think I earned it! Why not indulge in the Fortnum and Mason Lodge at Somerset House (it is Christmas after all!). And simply the best hot chocolate EVER. Dark chocolate with cream and salted caramel marshmallow! Oh yes! I am already plotting a return visit!

I always feel a fondness towards London but even more so at Christmas. The lights, the views and yes, the Christmas music, sort of makes the city come alive even more.
